it's been 3 days since i got colds. i can't seem to heal as i still feel very weak. what should i do? i feel so hopeless that i think i got a bad bug.

Head cold: An average head cold, which is a viral upper respiratory tract infection, lasts about a week and lethargy is common. Taking extra vitamin C at the first sign of a cold may help minimize symptoms and their duration. If symptoms and congestion last longer than a week, antibiotics may be needed.

See a doctor: Either that or treat yourself symptomatically with acetaminophen, and other otc meds for the symptoms of a cold.  There is no specific treatment for a viral infection, if that is what this really is.  Only an exam will tell.

Not necessarily...: Sometimes after an upper respiratory infection, there can be bronchospasm that results, which can give the symptoms you describe-cough, irritation, etc. Treatment with a bronchodilator inhaler and perhaps even a steroid inhaler can be helpful in getting rid of these symptoms. So, see your doctor for diagnosis and treatment. Asthma is made if there is recurrent bronchospasm with other criteria.

hi i got cold after septoplasty is it common? safe? its my 3rd day after surgery what should i do?

Home remedies: You most likely have developed a viral infection post-operatively.  The viral infection should have little effect on the final result of the septoplastly.  The healing process may take a little longer.  Fluids, vitamin c and time are all that is necessary.  The surgeon might want to take the pack (splints) a little early. Ask your surgeon.

any suggestion i got injection benzapenecilin  2400000 and now feel worthier than before , i got cold  ?

Time will tell: I have not used Penicillin IM/IV forever.   Last time I used was secondary syphillis.  A lot of antibiotics come with side effects from mild GI side effects (common) to deadly interactions.  Rarely  it causes bone marrow suppression to hemolytic anemia. I am sure it was used for right reason.  I think in your case, time will tell. Rest and plenty of fluids.  Call your doctors office as needed.

Colds: The average cold lasts only about 5-10 days, however "post-viral" cough can last up to a couple weeks.  That being said, i tell my patients that if the cough doesn't clear up by a month, they need to get examination to make sure nothing else is going on.  Taking medicines at this point is irrelevant... The real cause of the cough needs to be determined.  Best of luck!

: Yes. If you ever had them you may test positive.

See doctor: People with asthma are sensitive to cold air. in fact, this is one way we challenge people to find out if they have asthma.  You need to see your doctor and get your lung function tested followed by the appropriate treatment.

friday i had to jump in a pool to save my friends phone. it was windy outside and i didnt get to dry off for about 15 minutes so i got cold. today is monday and i feel sick. could i have picked up an amoeba or is it the cold air + water??

: There is no amoeba in the swimming pool so you should not worry at all. Furthermore, assume that you caught the parasite, you would not get sick from this parasite in 3 days. You got a cold, that's all. Take care.
