how to treat dry skin....ive tried cocoa butter lotion, hair grease, hair oil, drink plenty of water but my skin still looks dry....

Get checked....: ...By your doctor for illness that can cause dry skin--mainly hypothyroidism--rule that out as a cause. Try using a vaporizer where you sleep. Shower in warm, not hot water. What are you taking 2 anti fungal drugs for? Could they be having some effect on your skin? See a dermatologist if necessary.

Dry skin: Dry skin occurs not from too little water intake but rather from loss of water through the skin.  The best way to minimize this is to apply moisturizing creams or lotions twice daily.  Other things you can do include limiting your bathing to as infrequent as possible.  Not all scaliness is from dry skin.  Consult with your doctor if moisturizing does not work.

See a doctor: Something is not right, as you know.  It is hard to say what it could be without knowing more about you, and your history.  See a doc as soon as possible and get a thorough history and physical done with appropriate lab work. Stop any herbs or supplements you may be taking, as well as drugs and alcohol for now. Many treatments: MGD can be aggravated by fluid deficiency and you have self diagnosed low fluid intake which you can correct.  This is an area of eye treatment that has undergone significant improvement in the last 5 years.  See an ophthalmologist for updated treatment.

Dermatitis: A rash that worsens with exposure to water happens to some people. A topical steroid cream and cotton glove application especially at bedtime can help - along with reasonable avoidance of water exposure.See your doc if not better after 2 weeks

Oil based: Water based products actually tend to dry skin further when the water content evaporates- it pulls skin moisture with it- kind of ironic.  So an oil base is better as long as it is non-acneogenic, to avoid pore clogging.

Dry Skin & Washing: Washing the skin more than twice daily with  water can lead to skin dryness. Extra washing strips the skin of natural moisture, making dry skin worse, according to the american academy of dermatology. Skin dryness is further aggravated by using harsh soaps. Antibacterial soaps are the harshest on skin.
