husband started having diarrhea sunday morning. cant seem to eat anything. even brat diet. feels fine otherwise. pepto no longer working to stop it?

What happens Sat?: He must do something different on saturday.  Does he drink alcohol on saturday night?  Take a good history of diet and activity on friday and saturday to try and narrow the cause.

had brief diarrhea followed by 24 hours of low fever (never + 100.5) now cannot stop burping.  very painful air in the system- could not even sleep.

Food poisoning: drink lot of water.if fever persists,see doctor.eat lot of greek yogurt.do not eat/drink any milk,coffee,tea,chocolate for 2-3 days.avoid all fast food.NEVER EAT SALADS OR RAW FOODS EVER OUTSIDE YOUR HOME.wash and cook all veg properly.buy buttermilk in local grocery store and keep hydrating urself.if you ate sushi or clams,oysters etc then see an MD if you do not get better.

Have a nice time: If your diarrhea is mild, of brief duration, caused by a number of viruses, food poisoning, or a self-limited low-grade infection then go have a nice time on your trip.  However, if your diarrhea is profuse, wakes you from sleep, is associated with fever and/or abdominal pain/tenderness, bleeding, or is persistent then leaving familiar local medical resources is not recommended--go get checked.

See an MD: Most self limited causes of diarrhea such as viral gastroenteritis and food poisoning will resolve in less than 1 week.  There are many causes of chronic diarrhea such as infections caused by giardia and cryprtosporidium-inflammatory bowel disease-malabsorption etc.  Get checked out.

See your doctor: Could be lots of things. You should see your doctor to get tested. Make sure you drink lots of fluids so you don't get dehydrated.
