Urine and ascites: It i always best to discuss your mother's problem with her physician (p). Ask the p if she is forming more ascites and to take some blood to assess her liver and kidney function. If so, and her renal function is not impaired, aldosterone antagonists can be used to make her urine output increase.

can hsv2 cause constant daily urethritis for 2 months? all other tests are clear. i have hsv2 for 4 months now and my urethra only burns after peeing and all day after that but not when i pee. could hsv2 be the cause? i can't find any solution. help?

: No HSV2 outbreak ever lasts more than 1-2 weeks, and herpes is not known to cause continuous urethritis. Many positive HSV2 blood tests are false; it depends on the numerical result. So you may or may not have HSV2; if you do, it isn’t the cause of your urethral symptoms. Find a doctor who understands HSV well, like an STD or infectious diseases specialist. Good luck.

Basics: Irritation from soap would respond to a cold compress &amp; mild steroid cream applied to the opening. If you are sexually active consider a variety of sexually transmitted diseases as the cause &amp; seek testing &amp; treatment.

Cysto and ultrasound: You need more work up. You could have an anatomical problem like a stricture or even something you were born with that gets worse. Your urologist should do a cystoscopy, renal ultrasound and maybe VCUG.

Time for visit: Our bodies are well supplied with nerve endings that can tell us a lot if we listen to them. If you are having a burning sensation during voiding or sex , you have an STD until proven otherwise. Some of these can linger and even have no symptoms while they eat away at your system or you pass them to others. Please get in and have this evaluated.

UTI vs STD: Burning with urination usually indicates a urinary tract infection. The vaginal and thigh rash may indicate that there may be an STD involved or other infection. Vaginitis is most often caused by candida (yeast) or trichomonas (std). In any case, you should be checked by a dr who can do an exam and cultures to determine how to best treat you. Left untreated these can develop into severe problems

We can help!: Urinary frequency can occur for many reasons, and finding the cause can often require a detailed patient history, physical exam, or other testing. I suggest seeing your primary care physician for evaluation. If your symptoms are very bothersome, seek a urologist. Keeping a bladder diary for 48 hours is very helpful for the physician: write down when and how much you drink, and when you void.

But, if you are leaking pustular discharge and see some of this in the urine it may very well be a sexually transmitted disease. It could also be excess fluid from a swollen or infected prostate gland.
