CSF?: By far the most important thing for you is to be sure that this is not cerebrospinal fluid leaking through a tiny hole in the bottom of your skull.  Your physician can determine this by using a urine dipstick to see if there is glucose in the fluid.  This should be done as soon as you can.  Good luck.

If simple allergies, would get into an allergist to find out what u r allergic to as well as to get on an excellent nasal hygiene regimen.

Not directly: The sinus cavities of the head/face are located in the facial bones & has bone separating them physically from the brain. In rare cases a sinus infection can extend backward through the bones & enter the space surrounding the brain.Fever, headache & stiff neck would be early & obvious with progression to death if untreated. I've read about it but never seen it in 3 decades.

Post Nasal Drip: Chronic cough is most commonly due to 3 conditions: asthma, post-nasal drip, or GERD (heartburn). You might have one or a combination of all three. Further workup by Allergist is helpful as they can perform a more detailed assessment including skin testing, pulmonary function testing, and.chest x-ray. Sounds like chronic rhinitis, avoidance of triggers important, allergy shots could be an option.

Allergic rhinitis: Is runny nose worse in any particular environment? If so, can you avoid that place? If not, try OTC antihistamines. Loratadine is least likely to make you sleepy while diphenhydramine is most likely to do so. I couldn't find nasal antihistamine spray available OTC in States. Nasal steroid sprays fluticasone &amp; triamcinolone are available OTC w/o prescription. Avoid nasal decongestant sprays.
