is it possible for me to take tramadol with norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) and ativan?

Yes with caution: I would talk with the prescribing physician and review the specific regimen intended.  The tramadol may be acting as a way of reducing the reliance on the relatively higher strength Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) i hope.  Additionally, the Lorazepam has a capacity for producing respiratory suppression and could be dangerous in the context of too many opioid therapies being administered simultaneously.  Stay safe!

Probably safe: Combining benzodiazepines (like Ativan) and opioids (like hydrocodone) can lead to respiratory depression, meaning you don't want to breathe.  That can be dangerous.  But at those low doses, and esp if you take the hydrocodone in the morning, it should be safe to use at those doses.

When are you going to stop taking those medications?

Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) with Ativan: The combination Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) with Ativan has some risk to it because both drugs are sedative, both are respiratory depressants and both have addiction potential.

They can be taken together only with a doctors consent, prescription and supervision.

Yes you can: Yes you can but have to be aware that there will be added sedation and do not drive and be careful in your activities.

Only if under the : Close supervision of a physician and if taken as prescribed. Risk is loss of respiratory drive. They should not be taken together if you I have sleep apnea unless you are very compliant with your  CPAP machine including  during naps.

Emergency room: Go to the emergency room. You need immediate evaluation. These medications do not control suicidal thoughts.

i take ativan 2 mg to help me sleep. have been experiencing severe back pain and would like to take 10 mg of norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen).  is it safe to take together?

Not safe.: Using Lorazepam that is ativan  together with Hydrocodone that is norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) may increase side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Some people may also experience some impairment in thinking and judgment. You should tell  your doctor about all other medications you use and get approval of your doctor.
