tripped & right knee suddenly hyperextended. fell backwards. today is 3rd day its painful to bend my knee. hurts on inside of right knee. can stand/put weight on it but hurts to bend to walk/sit. today pain slightly below knee still on inside area.

HI,: Oh dear that does not sound good. Have you seen a GP yet? It really sounds like you may have damaged either the cartilidge or the ligaments. I would get it checked out, something like this requires and examination by someone trained to perform it. :)

i dance and i felt a pop under my knee cap. it also hurts on the inside of my knee. pressure, overuse, and bending hurts it. not swollen. ?

KNEE PAIN:  knee pain and popping you need an exam baseline labs and knee X-ray .  It may be chondromalacia patellae.(Runners knee) If  duration of knee pain is over 3 months  a knee MRI would be indicated to define the anatomy and evaluate for structural damage. Also consult a PMR doctor for potential injections of platelets or glucose . Lastly an ortho consult in case surgery is needed

there is constant swelling and pain under my knee cap.sometimes it pops and hurts into the inside of my knee.i can run but it hurts.what's wrong?

May be tendonitis: If your pain is focal at the bottom end of your kneecap one possibility is patellar tedonitis.  You can treat with ice, anti-inflammatories, stretching, and use of a chopat or similar brace when running.  There are other possible causes and you should see an orthopaedic surgery for examination to be sure.

lately when i bend my right knee starts to buckle and i lose my  balance. its swollen, tender and hurts on the inside of my knee. what can cause this?

: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. What you described suggest inflammation of a bursa.  It is treatable and it would be prudent to see a doctor.

Uncertain: Maybe patellofemoral pain syndrome. arthritis or a tear  of cartilage. Please see your PCM or your orthopedic surgeon to find out the cause accurately. Take care

Arthritic: Many pts. With osteoarthritis have arthralgias when temperatures go down. It is probably the most common reason. A very low possibility would be cold agglutinins present in your blood. Consult with a rheumatologist.

Check with a trainer: Have an experienced trainer check on your form. If the problem continues change your exercise --- the particular exercise isn't worth years of bad knees.

Look at your feet: See if you are pronated or flatfooted as this is one thing from a podiatric point of view that could cause knee pain. If this is the case you can try an orthotic. Of course the are other causes of knee pain...but I thought I'd throw that out there..
