RA + psoriasis: There are a number of newer medications that could help you. Xeljanz works by disrupting cytokine and growth factor signaling pathways. A trial of the medication is useful to see whether it helps you. Other medications that might help include Remicade (infliximab) and  Apremilast

Humira for psoriasis: Cancer is not the main risk to worry about. The most common serious problems with Humira are tuberculosis and other TB-like infecitons, not cancers. But even these are uncommon. With "moderate" psoriasis, most likely the benefits of Humira outweigh the risks.

See your MD: You need to see your gastroenterologist/PCP to get this evaluated soon. Patient like your are more susceptible to certain types of infection as you know and you should get evaluated urgently and go to the emergency room if necessary.

What's the ?: There are alternatives for Humira (adalimumab) for your condition but the first thing would be for your doctor to request authorization which may require a peer-to-peer discussion. If still unsuccessful, consider writing to your state's insurance commissioner to file a complaint.

More frequent is OK: Humira (adalimumab) is approved  for every two weeks, but that does  not always control what ever  it is being used  for (there are  5  indications including psoriasis and your  physician will decrease  the interval until a dose  that  works is  found. This will need approval by your  insurance  company and not every company will allow. You still need to be closely monitored for safety and at this  dose.

Humira (adalimumab): I recommend that you use a different biologic such as stellara, enbrel, or Remicade (infliximab) which is given by an infusion.

It depends: Humira (adalimumab) & other anti-tnf therapies have been associated with an increased risk for developing infection. It is recommended that all patients be up to date with all immunizations prior to beginning Humira (adalimumab) or other anti-tnf therapies. All flu vaccines except the live flu vaccine are safe to receive during Humira (adalimumab) treatment. For 2011 the swine (h1n1) vaccine is included in the general influenza vaccine.
