TheEyesDon'tHave It: That's a good question.Fat can re-grow anywhere,whether it's been starved to near-death or removed.As I recall, HRT might either maintain a particular distribution of fat or redistribute it back to where you think it's supposed to go.Well,good luck with all that. It might, but there's much more to the whole hormone thing than that! Barring thyroid disease,don't sweat it or fear being an eyesore!

what is the normal progression of the body's reaction to hrt for a male to female....im currently on 1mg of estro and 100 mg of spiro/ both twice a day...what more can i expect and like what timeline?

The most you can: Expect is to stop hot flashes and improve vaginal sx's.  Do you sleep at night? Are you having hot flashes? 2 mg Estradiol should do the trick.  The sx can overlap with stress and anxiety.  If still with hot flashes consider a med like Cymbalta (duloxetine) at 30 mg, need an snri, not just an ssrisolid best results, may need something for sleep. With private consult we can examine more closely, this in my area.

Inappropriate: A young boy may also stop growing and have weight gain, and feminize

Cornea is stable: What changes as you age is the flexibility of your lens which will make it difficult for you to do close work or read a book without reading glasses.

is clomiphene a good hrt alternative for men?

Accepted Answer

Yes: Low dose Clomiphene can be helpful in men with idiopathic hypogonadotropic hypogonadism.  This is the most common finding in men with low t (low t, normal lh).  If the low t is due a problem with the testicles resulting in high lh levels, it will not help.

how come some biological males voice remains childish and or high pitched? i started hrt at age 21 and(thankfully) my voice never got deep. why?

Full range for choir: It is a function of length and thickness of vocal cords, as with any instrument, changes can adjust tone/pitch/quality. Some never thicken and are taught, so high. Others are thick and (comparatively) lax, so low. Most in between.

im a 56 year old female and struggle with slepnessness  i exercise between 5-6 days a week.....morning and afternoons. this morning my average hrt was 150 bpm and max 174bpm...calories burn671.is that normal?

Exercise ?'s: If your heart rate is up to 150-174 with exercise, the calories burned are minimal , and your heart rate should not be so elevated if you are exercising regularly and doing cardiovascular exercises.  Try increasing the exercise intensity (running instead of walking, etc.) gradually, and your heart rate should decrease, and calorie burned increase.

if a girl gets hrt to become male and removes her reproductive system does her life expectancy go down to that of a male's? or is it lower than that?

Hard to speculate: We don't have a large group of these to study so the answer would be hard to come by.Since these folks also have a suicide risk that is cited as 70X greater than the average population, there is likely some effect that places on any number we would give.

i'm a male and i've always felt like i'm supposed to have breasts i know my options are mainly limited to hrt and implants but i don't want implants and i don't want to fully transition but is it possible to do hrt but keep function of my manly bits?

: The best doctor to counsel you on this would be an endocrinologist. If you take female hormones as a male you certainly risk affecting your fertility. An endocrine doctor would be able to determine all the risks of taking this hormone therapy so that you can make an informed decision. You can also seek counseling abut your desire for breasts if hormones are not an option. Good luck!

Double check: testosterone levels fluctuate normally, so to confirm a testosterone deficiency it is very important to test twice, and the test should be done as early in the morning as possible to maximize accuracy.  If a repeat test, properly done, confirms a T deficiency then hormone replacement may indeed make you feel better, and there is no alternate way to correct a true testosterone deficiency.
