it seems i get a uti  shortly after my husband and i have sex but only if we use lubricating jelly,  could that be the cause?

Accepted Answer

Is it a UTI: or is it urethritis?  There may be a chemical in the lubricating jelly that you are sensitive to. This could cause inflammation and UTI like symptoms.  Have you tried using a different lubricating product? Take care.

lost virginity at 15. that young, no problem being aroused and my body had no problem lubricating itself. now i'm always "dry". is this normal for 19?

Blinking sound: When air gets between the eye and eyelid a sound may be heard when you blink or close your eye fully. Lubrication does reduce the chance of this occurring.

Anus: No. Lubricating just makes it easier to expell what is in the rectum.

Could have: An infection in your nose. It probably should be evaluated . You could try saline rinses to see if that gets rid if the problem first because it would not harm your tissues. Best.

Accepted Answer

Yes: Non preserved artificial tears are often recommended for the treatment of dry eyes in individuals  who are sensitive to preservatives. There use can be very frequent (every 30' or so) due to low surface irritation side effects. Just as with any eye drop medication, avoid contamination of the dropper tip. Non preserved drops last generally 1 day, &amp; are best refrigerated in between uses to protect.

Please see your gyn: You need vaginal lubrication, like astroglide or replens , etc. And you may need vaginal estrogen cream.

there is a gland in the vaginal area where some people are known to get cyst in. i can recall the name of the gald or the cyst. its responsible i guess for lubricating the vaginal area i think? but if a cyst is on it can it cause vaginal dryness?

No: The gland is called the Bartholin's gland and plays a role in lubrication.  A cyst forms when the gland duct is blocked.  No, a cycst does not cause vaginal dryness.  The primary source of lubrication is the vagina itself.

i am sensitive to things in my eyes. can i use lubricating eye drops?

Accepted Answer

Probably yes.: Many tear substitute eyedrops are available.  If you are sensitive, then look for preservative-free lubricating drops.  They cost more but they stay fresh till you use them, and have no irritating preservatives.  I would avoid drops that "get the red out".

71 years old male getting severe itch in palms and hand at night - several times due to that.  cold water wash and lubricating cream doesn't help.

Pruritis: "Pruritis" of feeling itchy can be secondary to local irritants.  The fact that is happens at night can sometimes mean you have an abnormality with your blood tests.  Alternatively, liver problems may sometimes manifest as itching.  See your doctor for a proper evaluation.
