Birth Control: Nordette-21 is a cyclic with control containing estrogen and progesterone.  If used for birth control, one should start it on the first day of bleeding of a natural cycle, then take a pill a day.  If being used continuous, one can start a new pack as soon as one runs out.   Basically start with the first pill and take one each day until its over then go to the next pack.

Assume you are: referring to takinf 4 pills followed by 4 more pills 12 hours later and doing this on three separate occassions. If  you feel that you have no other choice but to continue to use an oral contraceptive as an emergency contraceptive - you could always consider  not having sex until you are using a regular  form of birth control. Yes, it can be used on three separate occassions.

4 pills, then 4 more: If using Nordette (ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel) for emergency contraception, the Princeton University publication recommends taking 4 pills and then 4 pills 12 hours later. This question is a bit unclear, but if one took 4 pills, then 4 more in 12 hours, then 4 more in another 12 hours, she should be ok but she might have estrogen symptoms like nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, breast tenderness, menstrual changes this cycle.

Timing birth control: Birth control pills should ideally be taken at the same time every day. Combination pills consisting of both an estrogen &amp; progestin allow for some leeway while you can't be more than 3hrs late w/progestin-only pills. i had my period this july 5 had sex on july 7 my mens stopped.  scared took plan b(nordette). had sex again & the condom broke, should take plan b?

Doubtful: When used as ecp, it needs to be taken within 72 hrs after sex. Might be too late for you.

hi, is 5 months too long to keep skipping periods, i am on birthday control pills and i only take the active pills and skip the red pills so that i dont go on periods and start next pack of active pills . is it safe? im using nordette

Very thin lining: Uterine lining is likely to be very thin, and this can be done for as much as 12 months.  If continued, may see light bleeding from the thin lining.

from a scale of 1 to 10 , how possible is it for one to experience side effects? i have been prescribed lexamil 5 mg and i read the package insert and now im scared to take them. also is it safe ti take with my contraceptive nordette & canex cream?

About fear...: A person can read the package insert for escitalopram and see what percentage of patients got "side effect" symptoms. The package insert can be a name brand such as Lexapro or Lexamil. Some symptoms are common, as in maybe 1 out of 5, or 1 out of 10 people. Some symptoms are rare, as in maybe 1 out of 10,000. Discuss each symptom's (that is causing fear) rareness with the prescribing doctor.

i take 100mgs of euthyrox for hypothyroidism. i also take the pill nordette. i am struggling to lose weight and i have acne. 36 yrs old. what can i do?

Weight loss/diffic: First check with your physician to see if your thyroid replacement is adequate.  Oral bcp's can assist with acne if taken punctually.  Decreasing carbohydrates and walking for an hour a day or more takes time, and patience, but it will work if you stick to it.

No studies show this: At this time no studies have shown decrease fertility with periodic user of morning after pill.   I would encourage you to consider a better form of continuous birth control.   There are many options available depending on your health status.   I would discuss with your doctor.   If you are having to use this a lot, it suggests unprotected sex practices.  This increases risk of std's. Wear condoms.
