Possibly: Sometimes we use continuous birth control pills to help when a person has excessive bleeding but if are wanting to have few to no periods you may want to consider a different type of birth control like  the Mirena (levonorgestrel) IUD or Nexplanon implant.  Talk to your doctor about your options.

Not really: You can start your next pack of birth control pills and this will stop you over the next few days. This is likely to be the same as if you just took your pills normally. The Mirena (levonorgestrel) IUD is a great birth control method and it often stops periods.

Yes: High dose progestins and or Estrogens can achieve that goal.

Possible: You can start a new pack early and if needed you can double up on the pill for a day or so to stop the bleeding.  I sometimes get this request when women going on their honeymoon expect to be on their period at that time.

Tampon?: I don't think you can "stop" your period for just a few hours and then start it up again. All you can do is use tampon to stop/absorb flow for short period of time then switch back to sanitary napkin or pad. You can manipulate timing of your periods by adjusting how you take hormonal contraception. Talk this over w/your doc. Helps if you explain why you want to do this so s/he can better help you.
