Vomiting: Check in with the er to make sure you are not dehydrated and you have stopped vomiting. If not they can give you an injection of zofran (ondansetron) to control the vomiting.

Please see a doctor: There have been some infective diarrhoeas going around related to a commonly known bug and possible food poisoning especially so with half cooked meals and poor washing of ingredients. This may also be the case if you might have eaten fast foods / or at a restaurant. Bottom line is you may need an antibiotic depending on your symptoms, number of diarrhoea episodes per day, fever?, pain / cramping.

Peptobismol: This medicine has a mild effect on stopping diarrhea, so you may continue to have symptoms. It probably won't help with vomiting at all. Your body is under attack - probably from a virus, and it is working to 'clear out' the germs. Try to sip fluids/chicken soup to replace lost salts/fluid. If feeling light-headed or wiped out, see a doc. You may need IV fluids if it's bad. Hope you feel better.

Fluids!: Sounds like gastroenteritis or the stomach flu. Most viral gastroenteritis last from 5-7 days. To stay hydrated, continue to take fluids, even small amounts taken frequently can help. Stick with water mainly, a little gatorade for variety.

Gastroenteritis: Ugh, sounds like a bad family case of gastroenteritis! Encourage your kids to drink lots of fluids. There are really no good remedies to stop the diarrhea and actually you want then to stool to clear the infection. Avoid milk-containing products, stick to bland foods. For nausea, your doctor can prescribe zofran (ondansetron) which can allow you to catch up and get some liquids in them. Ask their pediatrician.

my 30 year old daughter has been vomiting non stop for 1/2 hour.  she also has diarrhea.  should i take her the er?

No: Make sure she is drinking small amounts of fluid frequently to prevent dehydration.  If she develops severe abdominal pain, very high fevers, has difficulty walking, or any other symptoms that might suggest there is something going on besides a stomach bug, then go to the er.

Vomiting: And the runs puts you at risk for dehydration which can be serious if long-lasting.  Please see your doctor or go to your emergency room.  You MAY need to have fluids replaced IV.  Peace and good health.

Can be: That's a high dose of zofran (ondansetron), (ondansetron) it's okay, but not uncommon to have GI side effects with zofran (ondansetron). Some women have constipation. So long as you are able to keep down water/fluids and don't have a fever, you're fine.  Good luck, hope you feel better soon!

my wife took a teaspoon of baking powder instead of baking soda to help with indigestion. for the past 6 hours she has constant diarrhea and vomiting. what can be done to stop this.

N/V s/p baking powde: Baking powder is just baking soda plus corn/potato  starch or aluminum of calcium salt, so unless you have an allergy to starch  no issue . The issue is the indigestion which  may be gastroenteritis  viral vs bacterial ,gastritis  with or without h pylori   or gallbladder .After 6 hours of diarrhea/vomiting she is very dehydrated and needs IV fluids Please go to ER as soon as possible  NOW
