i went off of zoloft (sertraline) recently and all withdrawal symptoms have subsided except for horribly fowl gas and stomach discomfort. when/how will this stop?

Soon: Robert, hopefully you stopped your sertraline (Zoloft) with the help of your physician.  I would be more worried that your psychiatric symptoms could come back.  If you were on sertraline for over a month, it may take about a week for the stomach upset to subside.  If it lasts longer than this your stomach issues are unlikely due to the sertraline, and I would see your physician for a work-up.

Weed withdrawal: Can be associated with GI symptoms including stomach problems  a person can be agitated depressed etc and this also be due weed 
currently no treatment per se but some articles point to some plausible treatment 
for stomach problems it is treated according to symptom.

Accepted Answer

Not commonly: but some bowel spasm and irritable bowel symptoms (cramping, constipation alternating with diarrhea) may occur with nicotine withdrawal. If these are severe or troublesome, use of nicotine replacement therapy in tapering doses would help.

Possible: Effexor (venlafaxine) withdrawal can be quite prolonged and consist of multiple symptoms such as nausea, dizziness, even vision problems.

i have taken 150mg zantac (ranitidine) twice a day for 7 days to reduce the acid in my stomach, as prescribed. does it cause withdrawal symptoms?

Accepted Answer

No withdrawal: Ranitidine (ZANTAC) is not a habit forming medication so it should not cause withdrawal. However, I believe you may be thinking of a rebound effect of acidity once you stop taking it.  Without knowing the exact reason it was prescribed for you it's hard to say.  However for most cases of gastritis or GERD, 150 mg twice a day is a very normal dose which you should be able to come off easily.

could be: You may have stomach ulcers which could be irritated by the alcohol, or you could be going through withdrawal, both, or something else entirely.  Go see you family physician promptly and get thoroughly evaluated.

Yes: Possibly nausea, vomiting, cramping, diarrhea.

Accepted Answer

Not expected: Hydroxyzine when used as an antihistamine or even a sleeping aid does not require tapering.  However if you were using it to control anxiety, then a tapering may be required. In large doses, it may slow down your bm and thus it may be the issue for you. Nonetheless your symptoms are unusual and the stomach symptoms may just be coincidental. See doctor if symptoms go beyond a few days or worsen .

can psychiatric medication withdrawal cause disintended stomach? stomach hasn't improved since starting and stopping risperdal and other medications.

Accepted Answer

It's possible: Try this, take some Gaviscon or alka seltzer plus to relieve bloating and gas buildup.
If you are constipated, try milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) or dulcolax or magnesium citrate and drink lots of water mixed with prune juice.

is it normal to experience crazy legs, very emotional and weird in stomach and back going through day 12 of withdrawals for vicodin?

Accepted Answer

Yes: Depending on the length of time of use and the amount used of vicodin withdrawals can persist for weeks and even months, they tend to get less severe with time and may wax and wane. That is one reason relapse is very high with opiates because the discomfort lasts. Hang in there and seek medical help, medications can help to get through , but other support is also often neccessary to avoid relapse.
