Ice and elevate: Sounds like this is a reaction to the sting.  I'd recommend ice, elevating your foot, using nsaids (like ibuprofen), and benadryl (diphenhydramine).

? : I don't understand. If it is still swollen after 17 hours that can be normal. But, it is progressively and significantly swelling, i would go to your er. Make a paste of 2 parts baking soda & 1 part water & apply.  Or:  apply an enzyme based meat tenderizer in a poultice & wrap area.

Wasp sting tips: Remove stinger by scraping along edge of skin with credit card.  Clean area with soap & warm water.  Apply ice in 10 min. Increments; alternating 10 on & 10 off.   You can take tylenol, (acetaminophen) Aspirin or Motrin for pain or Benadryl for swelling.  Make a paste of 2 parts baking soda & 1 part water & apply.   Or you can apply a meat tenderizer poultice to the area. Throat, airway, mouth swelling? Call 911!

Wasp sting: If you are allergic to a wasp sting and you have an anaphylactic reaction to the sting you could die   that is why they have the bee sting epi pens that people can carry if they are allergic   it is very rare to die from a wasp sting, however.

Histamine release: If you are allergic to bees, when you are stung their venom is injected into your bloodstream....Then your body reacts by releasing histamine and other chemicals...This causes the allergic reaction.
See an allergist for a complete history and possibly skin testing.
After any sting(even mosquito etc) wash with alcohol or soap/water and apply cortisone cream..Maybe evn take an anti-histamine.
