Vpi is causes too much air to go throuth the nose (you might even get some food or fluid go into your nose when you eat or drink). An ENT will be able to quickly tell you which one you have if the above doesnt help.

Breathing: Obstruction of airway in nose causes mouth breathing. Cover one nostril opening with thumb tip and breathe in. Then do same with other side. If air flow is easier on one side there is likely an obstruction from septum deviation. An ENT doctor can easily tell by looking up nose. Septal deviation is easily repaired usually with surgery and is indicated for health reasons.
