Argan oil: I like natural argan oil - get some from a local health food store. Just a few drops rubbed through the hair does a great job. Also good as a skin moisturizer.

Nappy hair Rx: You hair pattern is inherited so best advice is to live with it. Consult relatives with it how they changed theirs? Hair is tough to change and changing it takes heat and/or nasty chemicals. Consider a Fro or shaving?

if i use coconut oil as a moisturizer will it cause unwanted body hair growth? because i've heard that it'll cause the hair on your head to grow.

the head of my penis appears dry and has a few areas that looks like it had been peeling.  i use moisturizer and have been abstaining.  any ideas?

Penis and Skin: It is very common for men who are going to develop psoriasis to have this start on their penis first.  The other common problem that could be what you describe is a yeast infection. I would get to your family doctor to see if this is indeed psoriasis.

used retin a (tretinoin) twice on penis head...skin burned, reddish and sore patches. applying vaseline, moisturizer for 3 days. can i apply betnovate ointment?

Stop: I have no idea why you want to put Retin A (tretinoin) on your penis head since there is no wrinkle there. If anything, try topical hydrocortisone for a few days to calm the inflammation down (I presume however that Betnovate is a brand of cortisone containing betamethasone . If so, it is ok to use it once a day for 3-4 days but no more).

i accidentally used shampoo (head and shoulders) on my scrotum, thinking it was moisturizer. i left it on overnight and woke up burning. does not appear to be blistering but is very painful. im obviously not wanting to see a doctor lol. burn creams?

: irritant dermatitis....can try aveeno oatmeal baths. it's an otc product available in most pharmacies. If not better in day or 2, would see dermatologist for dx and tx.

optho: tiny scratch cornea wind blew hair. optometrist rx'd drops sulfa base. allergic to sulfa. pharm concerned. opto said use moisturizing drops, probably heal naturally. minor discomfort. thoughts?

Corneal abrasion: If he abrasion is not infected it should spontaneously heal within a few days.

how can i re-moisturize the roots of my hair?

Hair Conditioner: Each time we wash or treat our hair (eg. Color, permanent, etc), we are stripping our hair of the natural protective oils.  Hair conditioner generally contain dimethicone or related compounds that coat the hair shaft to "condition" the hair.  However, this gets washed off the next time you shampoo, so reapply conditioner after each shampoo is important.

can i use cetaphil moisturizing cream on my scalp and hair? it's dry.

Not a good idea: Creams, ointments, and moisturizers that are formulated for the skin are not necessarily suitable for the scalp and hair. I would recommend something formulated specifically for the hair and scalp. I have found coconut based formulas work well and are safe.
