No: There are no such foods such as that. If your TSH level is low, that means your thyroid is overproducing thyroid hormone and that could be a goiter or other thyroid disease - you definitely need that checked and treated.  If your thyroid hormone is low, then your TSH would be high. In that case, you need to take some form of thyroid replacement med - there are different options for that.

: Work with your doctor and follow advice.  If you indeed require medication, suggest you comply.  In spite of desire for resolution, thyroid problems do not necessarily spontaneously disappear.

: I know of no ways unless you are iodine deficient and have been for some time. Discuss with you Dr.  the Thyroid is a key to body health.  If TSH is high your body is talking to u thru the lab. Listen to it.

Yes: 1-2 is the mid normal range for TSH and is the goal many doctors treating hypothyroidism strive to get the level to.  Many people will feel better with the level in this range.

The clinical effects of a high TSH will be very troubling to you.

Treatment of high TSH is one pill a day and straightforward. It is not expensive.

Low thyroid function: If you have a high TSH, it may be that you have hypothyroidism, which is very common &amp; responds well to very cheap medication to correct.  Low thyroid function can cause depression!  So if you have thyroid hormone deficiency get treated, your depression will improve faster, even if on depression meds &amp; the meds may not work if your thyroid hormone level is very low.  See doc and get further tests.

Get checked out: You need to see an endocrinologist for further evaluation. A low TSH indicates an overactive thyroid. Your T3 is low if it is total T3 and very high if it is free T3, so this needs to be clarified and you need to be managed accordingly. Medication or surgery or both may be required for treatment.

If the units of this: TSH level are the usual ... mIU/L ... then the value you report is a little low and suggests that your thyroid function is overactive. The TSH, thyroid stimulating hormone, is a controlling hormone of thyroxine. So when TSH is high, thyroid function is low, i.e. hypothyroidism. Alternatively, when TSH is low, the thyroid is likely to be overactive, hyperthyroidism. Discuss a dose change with Doc.
