Clean ears or aids: Occasionally getting the wax out of the ears will improve hearing, but otherwise hearing aids may be needed.

Lower the volume: Excessive volume on the headphones can cause a temporary drop in hearing that a young person may be able to recover from, but over time, the cumulative effects can be permanent . Then, you can't improve it. Best option is to be very careful and preserve what you have. You should get an ENT exam and hearing test to check things out, .

Noise trauma: Generally, high frequency hearing loss with preserved low frequency hearing is seen in patients with noise-induced or age-related hearing loss.  If the loss is sensorineural, the only rehab option may be hearing aids.  Certain types of hearing loss may be correctable surgically.

No: Not that i know of. But acupuncture or some alternative therapy might help unblock the energy that is causing hearing loss.
It depends on what is causing your problem.

Hearing loss: The would be a common cause for hearing difficulty. Talk to your provider or make contact with an audiologist (often affliliated with ENT office).  They would be able to assess your hearing.

Not serious : This is most likely a bit of swelling and will resolve. If you have pain or bleeding from the ear it might be a perforation. 
Get it checked but I am sure you will be ok.

Yes: I addressed one about nasal septoplasty. Depending on the cause of your hearing problems an ENT may be able to help. Sinus infections are treatable if you have ear infection that is also treatable.

Some directions: First, make sure that infection completely gone, that sinuses and mastoids are clear, and eustachian tube is fully patent.  Also, check that no cerumen is blocking external auditory canal. Get updated audiogram to objectify your ability to hear, and if there is severe issue, modern hearing aides would really help.

Call your doc &amp; ask: If you are on methylprednisolone, it implies that you have already seen a doc for this who will have more information for you.  This drug is a steroid which is used for reduction of inflammation.  Thick mucous could represent an infection that may need antibiotic treatment.  Look for signs of infection--fever (above 100.4F), feeling tired, disoriented, or being sick for a long time.

i have been treated for inner ear inflammation with prednisone. my hearing improved and the vertigo seemed to be improving but has returned nausea. ?

Followup: It would be good to followup with your physician to re-evaluate vertigo. There are several other causes of vertigo that need to be ruled out before finding the diagnosis. Then treatment could begin. Other causes could be wax impaction, middle ear infection, mucoid otitis media, mastoiditis, meniere's disease, and several others.
