Morning LBP : Morning low back pain (lbp) can be relatively common in patients with defects or tears in the tough outer covering of the disc (annulus fibrosis). When the annulus is injured or torn, the pain fibers that innervate the disc become irritated which can result in lbp. I would suggest working on maintaining a good posture and core strengthening exercises for your abdominal, oblique, and back muscles.

i seemed to have injured my lower back working out on saturday and now am struggling to move and am in excruciating pain. please advise on what i should do next? get x-rays first, then a physio or chiro?the pain is intense so need assistance urgently

: Urge you to see your doctor face to face and get an exam, as the intense pain could be due to a ruptured disc, but could also be due to facet impingement and/ or sacroiliac dysfunction.  Imaging studies could well be helpful.  Therapeutics can be planned once it is clear where pain generator is coming from.  In meantime, a sacroiliac belt, which could be obtained online could help ease the pain.

every time i take even 1 sip of alcohol, i get pain across my mid/lower back & abdomen, almost as if i had been working out and my muscles are tensing. goes away after 10 min or so. blood work always normal. what could be the cause?

? Heritage: Some people are deficient in an enzyme that is needed for metabolism of alcohol. In the absence of this enzyme, acetyl-aldehyde, a product in the metabolic pathway of alcohol, accumulates and causes symptoms. Consider it a blessing, as alcohol is a poison that never did anybody any good, ever. Stay away from alcohol.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Compression: It may be that your body position during those two activities compresses the nerves more resulting pain leg pain.

Blood flow: A big kidney on one side with a small one on the other, the classic cause is an interruption to blood flow to one or the other kidney. A serious infection, or trauma could also cause this. Assuming that this finding is from an ultrasound, a vascular study is probably needed. Talk with your doctor.

Unfortunately...: It is not hard to damage the kidneys. High blood pressure, diabetes, atherosclerosis,  cancer, infections, medications & stones are a few of the many potential threats. The kidney has a great deal of reserve function, which is protective to us, but allows kidney damage to occur silently without symptoms. Once they fail, dialysis can sustain us for awhile, but a kidney transplant becomes necessary.

can you get two kidneys at the same time?

Yes: Usually one good kidney is sufficient but sometimes 2 lower quality kidneys are transplanted simultaneously in order to get a good outcome.

can i get a kidney infectionfrom a hot tub?

Unlikely,possible: Can get urethritis & bladder infection from chlorine in a hot tub. There is always the mild risk of a bladder infection ascending to the kidney. Hence yes.
