Accepted Answer

Bloating post eating: May be gastritis/reflux, h pylori, gallbladder or food intolerances ( especially milk, gluten). Keep a diary of food you eat and if any do not cause the bloating and which do cause bloating.  Follow up with doctor/urgent care

hi, i ate canned spaghetti and it was really dented. im feeling okay a couple of hours later but someone told me you can get sick?

Dents vs bulges: A dented can is simply traumatized &amp; there is little reason to consider it "tainted". However, if you encounter any canned goods that bulge it is likely germs inside are creating a gas that has pressurized the can to make it bulge. These can make you sick. Canned foods are good until their use by date &amp; sometimes longer. You should always check this date &amp; the appearance for bulges before using.

i was exposed to potentially severe levels of brown asbestos, several times age 18, for less than 2 hours combined. am i going to get sick and die?

Accepted Answer

No. : There are much riskier things out there to worry about.  If sounds like you didn't have prolonged exposure, but you can minimize future risk of lung problems by not smoking, eating healthy and staying fit.

Okay : you should be fine. You may have some upset stomach or soft stool. Or may not have any symptoms. Either way you should be taking medications as prescribed.

Not from the temp: Colds are caused by viruses - most often the rhinovirus. Being cold can make you more susceptible to catching a cold, but it's not the temperature, the low humidity is to blame. Cold  air (usually less humid) can dry out the mucus lining of your nasal passages, making it easier for viruses to get in and make you sick. Also the stress of the discomfort can lower resistance to a virus. Stay well!

can i get sick or catch a disease if 2 flies landed on food exposed for hours cooked potatoes and carrots 40  year old female?

Accepted Answer

Possible: It depends on what the flies were exposed to before landing on your food. God forbid, the flies were sitting on fecal matter with bacteria like typhoid, salmonella, or toxigenic e coli, those bugs could be transferred from the fecal matter to your food by the flies.

i accidentally took two acid reducer pills within two hours that were meant to be taken 12 hours apart.  will i get sick from it?

Very unlikely: By acid reducer I suppose you mean a medication like ranitidine / cimetidine or omeprazole / pantoprazole etc.... These meds are frequently taken in "double dose."

after i exercise i get so tired, i could drop. after a rest, i'm okay again. i actually feel ill for several hours. this is new. what is happening?

Medical history is: an important thing to keep in mind when creating a work out program.  I see that you have a few medical conditions and encourage you to discuss your work out program w/your doc before you continue.  Peace and good health.  Ask him/her about Crestor, (rosuvastatin) which can cause muscle pain in some folks.  There are natural ways to reduce cholesterol.  Perhaps your doc can refer you to a natural doc for that.

had some scrambled eggs in a fridge during when power went out for probably about 6 hours. i ate maybe 3 bites of it and tossed it. could i get sick? anything i should do right now?

Accepted Answer

: Almost certainly you will not get sick and needn't do anything. After only 6 hours of power outage, probably your refrigerator contents warmed up little if at all. And cooked eggs wouldn't go bad even if out of the fridge at room temperature for several hours.
