Not from the temp: Colds are caused by viruses - most often the rhinovirus. Being cold can make you more susceptible to catching a cold, but it's not the temperature, the low humidity is to blame. Cold air (usually less humid) can dry out the mucus lining of your nasal passages, making it easier for viruses to get in and make you sick. Also the stress of the discomfort can lower resistance to a virus. Stay well!
