In some situations antiviral medications (Tamiflu, Relenza, Flumadine) may be prescribed within the first couple of days of symptoms to hasten healing or they can be used after flu exposure to prevent illness.

Influenza ?: First check with your OB physician for a test to make sure it is influenza.  As with many active viral infections, once the symptoms occur, they usually just have to run their course. Symptoms like cough and low grade fever can be relieved by medication, so ask your physician about his/her recommendation.
