Paliatively: Most people recover completely, without treatment in 1 to 2 months. Especially true if you can still partly move your facial muscles. Some people may have permanent muscle weakness or other problems on the affected side of the face but it is rare.   Treatment with corticosteroids is common which helps lower long term side effects.  Also if it is caused by a virus,  Acyclovir is helpful.

R/O BELLS PALSY: Unilateral facial weakness can be secondary to a sub clinical  HSV infection. Bell's palsy can respond to Prednisone /Valtrex combo. You need a prompt Exam and Labs. Bells Palsy if recurrent can be Secondary to LYME DISEASE. Also unilateral Facial weakness can be a sign of a CVA. Seek prompt medical evaluation.

Steroids: When we diagnose bell's palsy within a week of the onset of the symptoms, we treat with Prednisone and an antiviral medication, either Acyclovir or famacycolvir.  Studies show that symptoms seem to improve quicker or may be less severe after the treatment.

Most cases resolve: Spontaneously, whether given meds or not.  Some controversy regarding use of antivirals, but steroids do add some value.  Most cases fully resolve within about 4 weeks, and the usual recovery figure is about 92%, so things usually work out very well.

No: Pain is not typical of bell's palsy. However, if the eye does not close as a result if the bell's, then significant drying of the eye can occur. Pain from the eye is poorly localized, so your pain may be from this. You need to see an eye md to see if this is the case.
