Dialysis: If you have access to a hemodialysis machine and some helpful friends who know how to use it. Beyond this, forget it. We all make mistakes. All young people explore and try doing goofy things -- it's part of growing up. Do not operate a motor vehicle while you're drunk, and make sure you have a sober friend to look out for you. Be safe.

If you have a bad enough hangover, those symptoms may stay around for 24 hours after you last drink... Just another reason to keep your alcohol consumption less than 2 drinks at a time.

This equates to 12 ounces of beer (3.2%), 5 ounces of wine and 1.5 ounces of whiskey.

Perhaps you have: Developed tolerance. That is not a good thing. If you need alcohol to function or don't feel normal without it - you may be self-medicating with alcohol or you may be abusing alcohol. If that is the case - get help for the underlying problem or for your alcohol use.

About 3-5 hrs: That is about consistent with 3 (x 12 ounce) beers (or other equivalent alcoholic drinks). Depending on your body size (and % body fat, which i will be courteous & not ask), can metabolize about 3/4 to 1 drink-equivalent per hour. Can be slower if on meds, have liver disease, are american indian or certain asian descents.

In general, hours...: It is hard to tell how long it takes for alcohol to leave a particular person's body, but in general, it's about 1 hour for each drink. Some people get a higher blood alcohol level (bac) than other people do, despite the same number of drinks, so will take hours longer to return to normal. So, a bac of 0.08 will take 5 hours to go away, dropping 0.016 per hour, and bac of 1.0 will take 6.25 hours.

How : How quickly you break down alcohol and eliminate it from your system depends on many factors including gender, size, liver function, what medications (if any) you are on, and exactly how much and over what time period you are drinking the alcohol. For the purposes of most studies, 1 drink constitutes 1.5 oz of 80 proof liquor, or 5oz of wine or 12 oz of beer. In general, the concentration of alcohol peaks in your blood about 30 minutes after you drink it and when it's gone depends on how much you drink - 2 hours for 1 drink, 4 hours for 2 drinks, 6 hours for 3 drinks, etc...
