We often times seek out a quick cure but the acid actually causes a chronic irritation to the sensitive throat mucosal lining. Treatments include beginning a low acid diet, weight loss, avoid late meals, avoid alcohol, caffeine and tobacco. An OTC antacid may help too. Finally a visit to your ENT doctor may be needed.

There are a lot of: Things that can significantly help with gerd symptoms. Also chronic gerd can cause esophageal erosions, scarring & narrowing that can make food indeed 'get stuck'. For all these reasons, you should see a gastroenterologist & possibly have an egd.

: Simple saline nasal spray is often helpful. Avoid smoke, allergens e.g.duat. Wear a mask while outdoors. Discuss whether a nasal steroid spray e.g. Flonase is recommended. The itching indicates a possible allergic reaction, and allergy testing is recommended.
