: The mantra "don't put anything in your ears but your elbow" is correct. Leave it alone. Whatever you can tease out near the entrance with a wet ear bud is all you should do. If the doc needs to clear something away, they have the proper tools and can do it under direct vision.

: I suggest using a gentle soap with water to wash your penis because this can help neutralize many types of bacteria and viruses which can cause infections. Water alone is not effective. I wish you well with your health!

washing stbernard dogs in bathtub, had to step into bathtub water to make sure dogs didnt jump out. was giving them flea bath using dawn dish soap, got completely soaked almost head to toe in the bathwater. should i worry about infection or sumn?

Clean out ears.: Best is to stay away from trying to clean the inside of your ear canals.  Do not place anything smaller than your elbow into your ear canal as you can easily cause harm to your inner structures.
Ears canals naturally clean themselves.

Clean ears: The ears have their own self-cleaning system, and some amount of wax is actually protective for the ears.  If wax build up gets to the point where your hearing is affected, I have my patients try some otc debrox for a few days then come in for irrigation.  They also sell irrigation kits over the counter, but i tell my patients to be careful with them.

Ear cleaning: as long as there are no other symptoms than wax in the ears they can be cleaned at home. I would see  a physician if you had pain , found discharge or any other symptoms. Having said that there are multiple over-the-counter ear wax removal kits available Most of them employ some sort of peroxide drop and a saline flush. Check with your local drugstore for an ear wax removal kit such as Clear Canal

Ear cleaning: As long as you do not have a perforation of your ear drum, hydrogen peroxide is perfectly safe to use in the ears.

Never: Never put anything smaller than your elbow in any opening of a child's body! q tips are too big , may hurt and cause damage including a ruptured eardrum. If there are no tubes in the ears, put a few drops of peroxide in the ear for a minute. This safely cleans the ear.

Ear cleaning: There is no reason to use either product to clean the ears. Mild soap and water is more than enough. You should not be forcing materials into the ear canal other than water.  Sometimes hydrogen peroxide might to used to clean if blood was in the ear. Alcohol will irritate the ear.
