Never: Never put anything smaller than your elbow in any opening of a child's body! q tips are too big , may hurt and cause damage including a ruptured eardrum. If there are no tubes in the ears, put a few drops of peroxide in the ear for a minute. This safely cleans the ear.

Washcloth: Or as my mother use to say, 'nothing smaller than your elbow'. If you feel you have wax or some inner irritation, try a few drops of warm olive oil.
