More info: The most common scaphoid injury is a LIGAMENT pull or sprain (small tear)  Fracture is less common and a good deal of swelling and bruising would be seen
REST..ICE ELEVATE and Ibuprofen may help. Xray is next step

Yes: It may hurt if you move and part of the treatment is a thumb spica cast which immobilizes the thumb to assist in scaphoid healing.

Not related at 16yrs: The carpal tunnel issues and the scaphoid fracture were 16 years apart and are completely unrelated.

i had a surgery on my right scaphoid and it's been ok till now. it's hurting so bad i want to break down and idk what to take because advil (ibuprofen) isn't working and the doctor office is closed what do i do?

ER or Urgent Care: It's hard to know why it would be hurting so much now, but it sounds like the pain is very severe. To rule out infection or other complications, you may want to be seen in the ER. They will be able to get an Xray and evaluate your hand. Some Urgent Care facilities may be able to provide this service also.

Yes: People can break the scaphoid without a severe injury if they have a vitamin d deficiency, calcium deficiency, long-term steroid uses, severe osteoporosis, or a malignancy that takes away the bone strength. You should talk with your doctor about getting an MRI if you are concerned about the scaphoid bone.

Get reexamined: 'Snuffbox' tenderness after a fall can be a scaphoid fx. If not 'displaced' casting for 2 wks, removal of cast and advanced imaging( CT or MRI) is appropriate.If your CT did not reveal a fracture( and was reviewed by your ORS as well as the radiologist) then scaphoid fx.unlikely. Persistent pain should merit reexamination for other wrist/ hand injuries(example: scapholunate ligament tear).GL!

Scaphoid surgery: depending on the time from original injury and the deformity related to the non union there are several options. If no deformity electromagnetic field or pulsed ultrasound offer a non surgical approach along with continued casting to treat the non unionl In cases with deformity at the fracture site or long standing non union surgery with screw stabilization and a bone graft likely best approach

There isn't enough: Information here. Mechanism of injury? Current symptoms?  If your symptoms are serious enough that you are concerned about a fracture then I do recommend medical evaluation to include x-ray. Take care.

Scaphoid hurts: Depends on how bad the break was. Did they have to put in a screw?  I would ask Dr or search for a scaphoid fracture support group online.

2 types: Scaphoid fractures that are closer to the thumb usually heal in a matter of weeks with proper protection  your arm and hand in a cast. If the scaphoid is broken in the middle of the bone (waist) or closer to the forearm (proximal pole), healing is more difficult the cast will probably include the thumb. It may extend above the elbow, as well.broken at the waist or proximal pole, may need surgery - as screws and 
Protection:Avoid heavy lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or throwing with the injured arm, do not participate in contact sports, do not climb ladders or trees, Avoid activities with a risk of falling onto hand (for example, inline skating, jumping on a trampoline)
