It is very important to inform your doctor if you experience a relapse of symptoms after influenza.Early recognition & proper treatment of MRSA is crucial in avoiding serious complications.#1 is prevention of influenza with vaccine, hand hygiene & cough etiquette.Severe MRSA infection without a prior history of MRSA is possible.

May need antibiotic: Mupirocin ointment will not cure a nasal soft tissue infection.  It may eliminate nasal colonization with mrsa.  If you have a significant infection in your nose you need a systemic antibiotic like septra (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) or Minocycline to which the MRSA is sensitive.

Mrsa: It is an infection caused by staphilococcus aureus ( bacteria) that is resistant to the anbiotic methicillin and the betalactam/ cephalosprin class of anbiotics, but it may be sensitive to bactrim, (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) vancomycin, clindamycin, doxycyclin, Linezolid etc...

Dont scratch!: Hopefully youve seen a physician ; infection is being treated.  Itching accompanies healing or inflammat'n.  Scratching allows bacteria to colonize fingernails ; then the infection can be spread to other areas (may become a chronic carrier nose, rectum, fingernails).  If area is red, hot, swollen, spreading or you have fever: see  your doc.  If it is healing cool compresses, PO antihistamines.

MRSA infection: Mrsa infections can be treated with appropriate antibiotics like clindamycin, sulfa, the flare, vancomycin, zygodactyl, or cubicin. Care takers whether in hospital or otherwise should follow contact precautions to avoid spread of infection. 
Mrsa infection can occur in soft tissue infections, blood stream etc. Infections can be life threatening and serious.

Varies: Symptoms will depend on the site  of  infection  i.E, in the blood, in the skin, in the lungs etc..., skin infections may cause "boils", abscess, cellulitis( redness, edema, warmth to the skin), lungs infection may also progress into an abscess, fever, cough, pneumonia, in the blood, severe infection may cause low blood pressure, bleeding due to coagulopathy etc...

No: Many people who have MRSA infections are colonized with this bacteria in the nares and in areas of the skin especially in the axillae, groins and perianal areas. Colonization can be transient or prolonged.  In many cases colonization can be eradicated by topical treatment ie. Mupirocin ointment and hibiclens soap sometimes combined with oral antibiotics such as Minocycline or septra (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim).

Yes: Mrsa has found an environment that is hospitable enough for it to colonize the skin and other parts of the body. Though this may sound horrific, one should really just embrace the fact that MRSA is here to stay, and requires vigilance on one's part to clean cuts immediately, avoid sharing personal clothing/towels/razors, washing hands, and practicing  excellent hygiene.

Cleaners: Use cleaners or detergents and disinfectants on surfaces which are likely to contact uncovered or poorly covered infections.  Detergent-based cleaners or Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-registered disinfectants are effective at removing MRSA from the environment. Focus on surfaces which come in contact with people’s bare skin each day. Also clean your hands regularly.
