Home pregnancy tests are very accurate.: They are the same tests used in a doctors office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period.  if you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection.

: Pregnancy is related to ovulation, which in a regular (ovulatory) cycle, is thought to occur 12-14 days prior to the onset of menstruation.  You are either pregnant, particularly if you had unprotected intercourse at the time of ovulation, or, particularly if a pregnancy test is negative or you had no exposure, you are experiencing anovulatory cycles. In either instance,  see a trusted ob-
gyn.

ER if fever or blood: Any new, unexplained pelvic or abdominal pain should be professioally evaluated, so you're on the right track. If you have fever or chills, develop vaginal bleeding, or if the pain becomes especially severe, an ER visit would be approrpiate. Without these, it's probably safe to wait until tomorrow. : A "home" pregnancy test is reliable if it occurs 15-18 days after ovulation.  If no "unprotected sex" has occurred in the 44 days prior to the test, pregnancy is unlikely.
