Gastritis: yes you can eat avocados.  Their is very little you can put in your stomach that is more acidic that the Hydrochloric acid that the stomach itself produces. The only real restriction are things that you notice cause you discomfort.  Of course medications are a different matter.  Certain medications such as NSAIDs should not be used as they may worsen the condition.  Above all follow your doc.

Yes: Avocados actually are a good source of potassium which may help prevent flares of gout when eaten in moderation.  No problem with eating avocados--these shouldn't cause gout to flare. Cholesterol: Both of these foodstuffs have been touted as a means by which to lower LDL cholesterol (the bad cholesterol).  Cannot imagine a problem with eating these regularly.  Most changes are genetically as well as dietarily related.
