Prostate check: If you dont have any relatives with prostate cancer or family history of prostate illness, every men should start at the age of 50. If you have any personal record o family history, you should start at the age of 45.

The check up consist in a review of your prostate antigen (blood exam), and maybe a digital rectal exam if your doctor consider necessary. Its important to do the check ups annualy.

: It more important to get a PSA depending on your ethnicity, past medical history and family history of Ca of the prostate. Got to CDC.gov for latest guidelines that take all of these factors into account.

Should get checked: It is not normal. First, by seeing a doctor you could confirm that where you are experiencing the pain does suggest that the prostate is the likely problem.  Ejaculation shouldn't cause prostatitis, but if the pain IS coming from your prostate, then inflammation or infection are probable causes. Your doctor can culture prostate secretions leading to an effective antibiotic treatment. Good wishes:)

: A prostate exam would not be indicated if you have no symptoms suggesting prostate pathology and at your age. Health related anxiety appears likely and you should discuss it with your physician.

No: There are no home kits or other home tests that can detect enlargement of the prostate. Blood tests and a digital rectal examination is required. At times, a prostate ultrasound may also be needed as well.
