8-10 hrs: however, very often easier said than done. I advise no TV or music at least 2 hours before bedtime, avoiding stimulants, aromatherapy, massage and yes..."warm milk" still works. Power napping during the daytime can help make up for any shortfall during the day.

Depends on WHAT?: You don't state what you are recovering from.  Most people need 7-8 hours a night of sleep.  Some more, some less.  Most reading I have done, recommends 8 hours of sleep a day for good functioning and brain health.  If you have been severely stressed, you may need more.  Good quality sleep is important along with good nutrition, exercise and mental health.

Many people eat or snack when under stress, so less stress can lead to fewer calories eaten. When people try to stay up to study or work, they often eat or drink to keep themselves stimulated and alert... leading to more calories eaten. Staying up watching TV and eating popcorn also adds calories!

Depends on: How long you have been taking it. Probably not. You just might have a few nights where you have trouble falling asleep  it is short acting so you should fall asleep after a couple of hours on your own. Good luck
