Can look like a lot: Sometimes hemorrhoid bleeding can look like a lot because of the toilet bowl "filling" up with what looks like the whole bowl but it really is just diluted blood.  Rarely can some people bleed enough to get anemic from it.  If it is a recurrent problem that topical otc creams/suppositories don't help, see a GI specialist to get scoped just to be on the safe side.

If still a problem you could try banding and finally excision/ligation.  Surgery is really the only definitive treatment for this.  See your primary md.

Not unusual: small amount of bleeding after hemorrhoidectomy is normal, it may take up 2 weeks to go away completely.  You may see small amount of blood in the toilet tissue as well. You should contact your surgeon if the bleeding is profuse and goes beyond the 2 weeks.

Surgeon: I suggest surgical excision and definitive treatment. I would also suggest Sitz baths 3-4 times daily and the use of OTC hemorrhoidal preparations such as Anusol or have your physician call in  Anusol HC or Procto- Foam.

Keep moving: Hemorrhoidal cream or witch hazel can be used.  Minimize them by not sitting on the toilet to read.  If they interfer with your quality of life then seek out a colorectal surgeon.  These can be treated and you will feel better.
