Iron supplementation: You should try to eat 3 meals a day, but even if you didn't that should not stop you from taking the iron supplement as prescribed.  Take it with Vit C or Vit C containing products like orange juice and avoid dairy an hour before and after taking iron.  Other iron rich foods are meats, in particular liver, and dark greens

if a person eats meat every day, about 8-10 oz of steak, but takes no iron supplements, could he end up with hemosiderosis or hemochromatosis?

Not likely: Hemochromatosis is a genetic disorder that causes too much iron & deposits it in tissues. Hemosiderosis is not genetic & can be caused by anything that causes excessive amounts of iron to deposit in cells. Common causes having a lot of blood transfusions, alcoholism, taking too many iron supplements. Eating too much could cause it, so possible but not likely. 8oz steak-6mg, recom. Daily iron-10mg.

It depends.: Prenatal vitamins contain iron as well usually. You may take them all together, but you may have less stomach upset if they are taken separately with food. Iron absorption is increased with vitamin C and decreased by minerals, tea, coffee, and cocoa.
