Only a few: You will loose more weight due to water loss but this only lasts until you rehydrate.  There is a little increase in caloric consumption but not enough to help and not enough to risk dehydration and sun stroke.

Accepted Answer

Varies, but some: What you are describing is your basal metabolic rate - the number of calories you burn at rest. This will vary depending on your gender, age,  heredity and how muscular you are.  If you google BMR you will find tables that give you an approximation.

Passive sitting: According to livestrong a 150-lb. Person may lose  68 calories per hour while sitting. I will let you do the math by multiplying the actual number of hours. Take care.

Oy ve.: What would we do without friends?  Theoretically, sitting in cold water would force your body to burn extra calories to maintain your normal body temperature -- but a nice 20-minute walk will burn more calories, and you won't risk catching pneumonia.

Don't use that sauna: Maybe where you are sitting in the sauna under a heat source. Anyway your skin is being damaged! That is not the purpose of a sauna. Listen to your body! Stop it!

i had a 2nd degree burn 3 years ago. it healed. scar is left, but it's cool. i can take a hot bath, and no problem. (sensitivity has gone) i remember, just a year after the 2nd degree burn. how about it, going to sauna be okay?

: It will be okay. Three years is long enough for the scar to have matured.
For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.

post sauna,i experience burning left side chest pain(near bottom of pec. pain does not occur after running, even tho i breathe harder/heart pumps harder. also have chronic pain on left side of my ribcage, seemingly not activated by sauna.heart prblm?

Not likely: Circumstances suggest a musculoskeletal cause for the pain. Heart conditions cannot be simply ruled out otherwise and persistence of symptoms should trigger workup through your  doc.

Cardio Mix: If you adipose tissue that you'd like to lose then consider an increase in cardio and a balanced diet. However, do not always do the same exercise or you will increase your risks for stress injuries. Mix things up with running, biking, swimming, or circuit training. Core exercises may build muscle, but to burn fat you need to burn more than you consume and cardio is key!

It: Will be good to know your friends height, weight and build.  First is determining where her adjusted BMI falls. If she is overweight or Obese or at least within her IBW. Then her weight consciousness may actually be beneficial to her health. Provided she does not have an eating disorder
