Right cymbalta (duloxetine) dose: for ur depression or anxiety is the dose that u &amp; ur doc decide has the best risk/benefit, &amp; side effect profile in ur individual case. cymbalta (duloxetine), an SNRI , has a 12h 1/2 life. thus, steady state should be achieved in 6 X 12h =3d. if a loer dose seems more effective, then perhaps u've alleviated a side effect by reducing? Never make changes to ur med regimen without ur docs instruction

5 days: Technically, five days is required.  However, it may take longer than that for a helpful effect to develop, and it often takes two to three weeks. If you are lucky, it happens sooner. Since you are pushing the dosage limits of that medicine, you might request that an alternative be considered.

2weeks: Most of the effect will be present in 4 days, but full equilibration takes approximately 2 weeks.  If this is prescribed for reduced heart function, it is generally titrated in 2 week intervals, based on symptoms and vital signs.

Yes: Lexapro (escitalopram) or any of the SSRI's may initially cause you to feel more anxious before your symptoms start improving. In other words, you might feel a little bit worse before you feel better. I would encourage you to try to ride it out as it is really an outstanding medication. It probably has the gentlest side effect profile of the SSRI's. If symptoms are too severe, ask your doctor about decreasing &gt;
