Only newer kind: The new-generation antihistamine such as Claritin (loratadine) or Allegra possess virtually no sedating effect and  i don't see any problem with it. I do caution however that a rare individual may still get drowsiness from them even though in studies the incidence is no higher than taking a sugar pill.  Thus try it first before you combine alcohol with it.

yes, you can drink cholate when having symptoms of cold. You can take an antihistamine for relief of congestion. Steam inhalation may help to facilitate drainage as well as eliminating the cold virus faster. Hot drinks, vitamin c, and vitamin d have been found to be helpful by many. Common cold is caused by viruses and there is no effective treatment other than these measures.

Likely ok: It is likely ok although mild drowsiness may occur for some people from combining both antihistamines.

Sometimes: But be careful as some antihistamines can cause drowsiness.

Usually: but the older antihistamines (Benadryl (diphenhydramine) (diphenhydramine) etc) tends to cause additive drowsiness effect to alochol. A rule of thumb is that a Benadryl (diphenhydramine) 25 mg= 1 shot of alcohol in sedation. The newer ones don't have this issue.

Avoid coffee: Obviously you are reacting to something in the coffee.  You can change brands and see if that helps.  If the symptoms persist, then try tea or some other beveridge.

No: 20 mg of hydrocodone is a good dose. No alcohol for 8 hours if i were you.

Minimal info here: You don't really say enough to be certain - but - if it was a standard OTC like benadryl - and you took the directed amount and you take no other medications and have no other conditions that recommend no alcohol - a minimal to moderate amount should be ok. That means 1 or 2 (at most) w/ some food taken at a pleasant rate. Don't get drunk! That's never a good idea.

: after 12 hours it is fine to have a drink. Most antihistamines are cleared from your body, unless they are the long acting, either way there should be no problem with the two interacting.

Not expected.: Alcohol usually worsens itching unless one has drunk oneself into a semi-stupor.  Not all itching is induced by histamine and thus it may not work at all.  Dry skin is the most common cause for itching without a rash, consider applying a moisturizer &lt;3 mins after bathing to see if this helps. Make sure that no new medication or supplement was introduced shortly before the onset of itching.
