Yes: Studies show that have foot mouth disease and enterovial vesicular pharyngitis is contagious through handshakes kissing sharing beverages hugging etc.  This is usually a benign disease mostly of children  but in some can cause encephalitis Mostly in the first week. Possible: When the lesions are gone and no fever is present, contagious nature is likely low.  Herpangina can last for a couple of weeks sometimes.  If not improving at all, see your doc again.

   Herpangina is a viral infection which causes small blisters (vesicles) that quickly rupture to form small ulcers. Most common in youngsters; however, Herpangina has potential to affect all ages. The virus is usually spread by mouth- via the saliva. Symptoms include fever, headaches, and terrible sore throats. Oral meds. acetaminophen or ibuprofen and topical ontiments like benzocaine.
