good morning, my baby received his six week vaccinations yesterday. from last night he has a temperature of +-37c. he is getting very fussy and having crying episodes until he is soothed. please advise if i should take him to a gp or the hospital?

Observe: Monitor his temperature, continue feeds and apply a cool compress gently to the vaccination site. Watch for lack of use of the arm, high temperature, and excessive prolonged episodes of crying. A temporary reaction is common, but if prolonged, please see your GP.

Vaccinations: We do not know what vaccines he received, but in general, bumps or hives should not appear. Give your child Benadryl (diphenhydramine) for his bummps and make sure you let your doctor know about your child..'s reaction.

Other source for fev: There is another cause for your childs fussiness and fever. Hepatitis a vaccine is relatively benign, in that it is not known to cause fever or fussiness. Have him examined to find the source of the fever.

Rhinovirus: your pediatrician needs to know.  With any history of fever they also will want to see home/her.  Rhino virus is a common virus but a 2 month old they will need a call.  Hope this helps

The risk benefit ratio shows vaccines to be the better choice, however, you will never convince some of that fact.

It's not!!: Vaccines are very safe and important to keep your infant healthy. I recommend following the American Academy of Pediatrics immunization recommendations and that is what I do in my practice. All vaccines given in this country have been tested and found to be safe. The reported adverse effects that are frightening some parents have no scientific basis and are not caused by vaccines.

Fix what you can: Some parents find it helpful to make a list. Checking for specifics night or day reguardless of your level of fatigue.1. Basic needs: hungry, laying in pee, poo or spitup 2. Hot with fever/cold-?Need eval. Or warmer outfit. A lot of fussy babies are simply overly tired & the best you can do is create a good sleeping environment& help them settle. If all fails schedule a visit with you pediatrician.

: Advil is avoided under age 6 mo. (issues of potential kidney toxicity) Afterward I consider it a more dependable fever reducer/pain med.
