2-3 days: In 2-3 days swelling will start to go down.  Should be a little less every day after that.  Did you discuss this with your Dentist?  Were you given instructions about compresses?  Were you given anti-inflammatories?

Lip,stitches: You could be having scar tissue there and it should get better over a year.  Or a stitch is still there and that will make its way out unless it is a dissolvable type .

Normal!: Absolutely normal, swelling is how the body heals and the lip shows swelling more than most places on the body. It can take weeks for most swelling to resolve, months before it is gone.

yesterday morning i had a mucocele in my lower right lip removed. my lip is swollen from stitches and it's hard to eat; when will swelling go down?

Post Op Swelling: It could be up to 2 or 3 more days. Take liquid motrin or Tylenol (acetaminophen) if you have it. You are going to have to go to soft diet, Carnation Breakfast shakes or just straight ice cream(Yes I said it, it cooling and delicious) Try a cool rag or ice pack 5-10 mins of each hour to control the swelling. I hope you feel better soon!

i have 4 stitches just below my lower lip from the accident 270oct 2017. the other 3 stitches have healed nicely except 1.
this one is so painful in a way that i cant event touch it. it has some redness a swelling. i seek advice on treating this?

Specialist can help: A facial laceration, after healing, can trap stuff inside the wound. Sometimes, surface skin cells got trapped under the skin. Over time, the cells multiply and form a cyst under the skin, which should be removed. Sometimes, a foreign object (plastic, metal, wood, etc.) is trapped under the skin and causes chronic inflammation, and needs to be removed. An ENT or facial plastic surgeon can help.

Unlikely to help: You cool tissue in the first 24-48 hrs after injury to diminish swelling. Any cold after that point just reduces blood flow &amp; decreases healing speed. I would leave the area alone.

got a freckle off my bottom  lip today.. it is extremely swollen.. i have alot of stitches now and i was wondering if i can bring down the swelling?

Lip: Ice packs, Sleep propped up on two pillows, ibuprofen. Swelling will slowly go down over 3-5 days. Av.oid fighting

i was bite in the face by a german shepherd on 1/1/21 at work. luckily, i was wearing a thick mask so i only needed two stitches but my lower lip has had a ball in it ever since my swelling went down. is it normal for scar tissue to be spherical?

: The scar at the site of puncture from the tooth of a dog could appear to be spherical. It should shrink with time. I trust that you discussed the need for rabies vaccine with your doctor.
