Varies: Some individuals show little fullness even after a few weeks of healing while others take several months for swelling to disappear. Things to avoid are high salt diets and drinking excessive volumes of fluids.  Follow your thirst. After a few weeks an abdominal binder can help but ask your surgeon about this first. Start walking and return to exercise once your surgeon gives you the green light.

Abdominal size: Spot fat loss does
not occur naturally. By losing weight in general some will probably be abdominal fat. But, we don't get to choose what area of body fat is lost from. Eat healthy &amp; be physically active. Calories burned must &gt; those consumed. Tighten ab's: crunches, reverse crunches, exercise ball crunches, pelvic thrusts, lying leg raises, side bridge &amp; “bicycling” exercise on back.

Stomach knots: To answer this question it is important to distinguish whether the "knot" is in the stomach muscles (do a leg lift lying down to see if it makes it worse) or inside the abdomen, in which case it is mostly likely a cramp in the colon, which may be caused by gas, food, or constipation.

Knotty stomach: I think that you might describing symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome.  The symptoms can be constipation, diarrhea, cramping, irregular 
bowel movements, feelings of anxiety about the problem, another problem could be diverticulosis -- discomfort bowels changes, sometimes constipation --stool in your colon can feel like a lump that moves when you have a bowel mvmt.  Please see your doc for eval.

No magic here: If your 'large stomach' is due to a large uterus then yes. If your large stomach is due to fat then no.
