Please standardize: Who subscribed the Prilosec for 14 days.  If you self medicated it, please go to your family doctor to have a standard triple medication for h pylori. After that the symptoms will be gone.

H pylori: No, you cannot.  The treatment regimen is based on half-lives of the medications and maintaining adequate blood levels of the drugs.  Once daily dosing is not an acceptable regimen, even if taken for twice the amount of time.

Three common Triple regimens for 14 days 
OAC,BMT, LAC
LAC LANSOPRAZOLE, AMOXICILLIN , CLARITHROMYCIN IS THE MOST COMMON.

About 8 weeks: We usually do not test for successful eradication for about 4 weeks until after completion of therapy.

Ok to use Carafate: It Has been documented that sucralfate, a basic aluminum salt, enhances the efficacies of antibiotics against Helicobacter pylori, resulting in eradication rates comparable to those associated with the use of  PPI.Sucralfate delays gastric clearance of CAM and physically captures H. pylori through the creation of an adherent mucus, which leads to bacterial clearance.

Take as directed: These medications work synergistically versus H. pylori. That is, they work better together against this particular bacterium.  Take as directed.  I hope you are feeling better soon.

Multiple issues: H pylori can cause iron deficiency anemia by making a stomach ulcer. Treatment for H pylori takes about  week. Iron deficiency treatment depends on the extent of deficit and may take months.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

H pylori: modern triple therapy for H pylori is effective over 70% of the time, depending on which therapy you took. Since this infection is usually asymptomatic, how soon your symptoms improve will depend on whether or not the symptoms were actually due to the gastritis or ulcer that I presume you had and how well it has healed. Talk to your gastroenterologist. Good luck.

can h pylori ever be killed by antibiotics? i' v had 4 treatments wth diff. pills and this last time for longer but i feel very sick from gastritis.

YES: however, the antibiotics themselves can sometimes cause gastric upset. Consult prescribing physicisn.
