Chronic Pancreatitis: This is chronic inflammation of the pancreas resulting in abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, elevated liver functions and usually normal pancreatic enzymes. A lot of people get it after gallbladder surgery. Those who have it in my experience have multiple episodes of the above symptoms sometimes requiring hospitalization. Coordinated treatment between PCP and GI is needed.

went 2 er 4 chronic pancreatitis.was given 2 500mg vicodin at 4pm they gave me 15mg morphine to take home pill form.im in pain can i take the morph?

Yes: If still awake and in pain, yes you can take it. Just make sure not to take more than prescribed. During periods of acute inflammation, dry not to eat to rest the pancreas.

seen earlier for chronic pancreatitis flare. lipase level normal dr refused admit. told him pancreas is burned out levels no longer rise. stillinpain?

Other cause: Has your doctor considered other causes for your pain?
Since your lipase is normal this is not likely to be due to pancreatitis, but I would suggest having labs rechecked in 24 hours if symptoms persist.
There are many other causes of abdominal pain and nausea/fever which should be explored

is lpj surgery compulsory for 19yrs old boy who has pain every 14dys for chronic pancreatitis idiopathic.taking creon tramodol.should take more creon?

Yes and no: This surgery can be helpful.  Creon and tramadol will not stop the pain.  19 is very young to have the surgery.  it is a difficult decision to know what to do.  however, if you have tried everything and not able to continue as you are, this is your only option.  You can choose to continue with the pain.  The surgery is no guarantee that the pain will stop, but it is you only other option

currently taking dilaudid 4mg bid, for chronic pancreatitis (waiting for islet cell transplant) is there a safer non narcotic med i can take?

Buprenorphine Patch: Not much available in the non narcotic medications that usually provide relief from chronic pancreatitis pain.  Safer narcotic delivery approaches might be available.  Butrans patch might be something to talk to your primary care provider about.

i have chronic pancreatitis and jist suffered an attack now am bleeding when vomiting dizzy and short of breath should i go to a + e or just take the pain ?

doubtful: It is a chronic condition...Which means it lingers on and on for many years. Yet people can live a normal life despite having this diagnosis.

Irreversible changes: Chronic pancreatitis is defined by irreversible changes in the pancrease (pancrelipase) such as fibrosis.  This causes poor function and problems with digestion and blood sugar conrol.
