Patience.: Fungal folliculitis, or "majocchi granuloma" named after an italian dermatologist is a skin condition characterized by a deep, pustular type of tinea circinata resembling a carbuncle or kerion.  It is usually caused by trichophyton species or other dermatophytes.  These do not respond quickly to antifungal medications, it may be some lengthy time before visible improvement occurs.

Maybe: The time varies. The real question is did it get better with the cephalexin or not. If it did, then you just need more time. If it did not, then maybe you are on the wrong antibiotic.

Contact your doctor: Assuming the diagnosis is correct and the folliculitis is an infection (not all cases are), there should have been improvement by now. However, it can take a week or more. Doxycycline isn&#x27;t the usual antibiotic for folliculitis, but it often would work. Contact the doctor who prescribed it. If you are treating yourself, stop the doxycycline and see a doctor.

It depends: I really use other kind as the bacteria is more sensitive to things like clindamicin or penecillin some times the folliculitis is caused by fungus and need calamin lotion to clear it instead.

A localizeinfection.: Axillary folliculitis is an infection in the hair follicles in the underarm area. It is most likely a staph infection, and is definitely treatable.  T is more common with shaving.  If this happens frequently, then clearing out the staph colonies that live in the nose with a topical antibiotic called Mupirocin can be very helpful.  Good hygiene and antibacterial soap to the underarms is helpful.
