Possible multiple: Mavik (trandolapril) is an angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor, or " ACE".  This is a very commonly used class of blood pressure lowering medication.  Any blood pressure medication, if too strong, can make you feel weak or light headed, if the reduction in BP is too great.  A side effect specific to ACE inhibitors is chronic cough.

It depends...: In general, high blood pressure is treated because of the potential for disastrous consequences, such as heart attack and stroke the longer it is left untreated.  The more risk factors you have (such as your age, cholesterol levels, presence of diabetes, weight, etc), and the higher the pressure has been will all contribute to increased risk.  First thing to do, though, is check on another cuff!

ARB: Telmisartan is the generic name of micardis- an angiotensin receptor blocker working in your kidney to dilate blood vessels and lower blood pressure. It's absolutely contraindicated in pregnancy. Otherwise, side effects are rare. Pantoprazole is the generic name of protonix, (pantoprazole) a proton pump inhibitor that reduces gastric acid production. It has no effect on BP and also is usually well tolerated.

Well : They are very similar medicines in the same class medication like trading Coke or Pepsi.Ask your doctor what he made the change usually generic drug is the cheapest and just as effective

Best BP MED IN YOUNG: You should try to move to the DASH diet eating plan. If you do it like your life depended on it  at least 50% will not need meds. If that fails to work and you are on the Zz DASH as reflected by Na|K in a urine the next preferred med is chlorthalidone depending on other issues you may have

i find that if i take pseudoephedrine once a day before bedtime, i sleep better and wake up feeling more rested.  i have no side effects i am aware of.  is this safe to do long term.  i do not have any health problems and normal blood pressure.  i am 56.

Not advised: Pseudoephedrine over a long period can cause side effects including elevated blood pressure. when stopped also causes a rebound phenomenon.
