is it normal to have a super super heavy period after having a baby! i'm 3 months post partum and going through a super tampon every 45 min - ?

Not normal: Is this the first period since delivery? Was everything ok with delivery and did bleeding stopped as expected afterwards? Were your periods heavy before preg.? Periods can become a bit heavier after pregnancy but a tampon every 45 min seems a lot. I'd see your OB-GYN, esp. if heavy bleeding continues, cramping, fever, dizzy or weak.

i got period 7-8 weeks post partum & heavy & lasted over a week. stopped a few days now it's back! on pack 1 of birth control pills. is this normal?

Break through Bleed: This is fairly common as you adjust to the new birth control pills. If it doesnt settle down, you might need a higher dose pill.

Irregular bleeding: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections ;  hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do  a home pregnancy test .  There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

Depends: It depends on if you are breast feeding. If you r breast feeding than it can be very unpredictable.

Tough one: if actively breast-feeding and no menses since delivery you are not ovulating and thus unlikely to conceive or become pregnant. Sorry. Enjoy the bonding time with the one you have. Breast feeding so very important to your child especially for the first year of life. No real way to make your periods (and ovulation) start up again safely. Let nature take its course. Dr. R

Yes: Nexplanon  can cause spotty or minimal periods normally.

Depends: Depends on how fast you heal . If you are not anemic and pretty healthy , you may see a period within the month.  If you are taking birth control, depending upon what it is, this may affect your cycle. Check with you provider for this discussion.

Uterine "purge": The uterus is emptying everything from the pregnancy out a this time. That includes blood, debris, and gestation tissue remnants. The bleeding should eventually slow down in 1 to 2 weeks. If it is bright red, call your OB now and make an appointment as the bleeding may be due to retained placental tissue.

my cervix is low, 5 months post partum and breast feeding although my periods have returned. it's uncomfortable for over a week. normal pap done recen?

Exam: There is such a thing as a prolapsed cervix that can happen after delivery. You would need a doctor to perform an exam to diagnose this.  There are things that can be done surgically to lift up the cervix if in fact it is prolapsing. Again a gynecologist can answer this for you. I'm sorry you're in pain, making appointment with your gynecologist.
