Omeprazol: It should start working to inhibit secretion of acid within an hour but if you have a chronic condition or an ulcer it takes couple of days to see full effect. Be a little patient and talk to your doctor.

Continue Miralax (polyethylene glycol): It usually works in 2-3 days. You may need to double dose if no results in 2-3 days.  Also add DSS ( stool softener)

A few weeks: I normally give it 1-2 weeks before increasing the do age. Try some Tums (calcium carbonate) and non greasy, non fried, bland foods.

Yes, but chk it out: You can use both medications if you need them to control your significant gerd/reflux trouble, but i would advise checking it out with your doc to see why you are having such bad reflux. An infection such as helical pylori causing gastritis/ulcers? Hiatal hernia? Nonulcerative dyspepsia? Minimize alcohol, caffiene, and minty/spicy foods n don't eat before bed. Don't smoke. Consult doc. Good luck.

i take 80mg of omeprazole a day i just had a drug test for work and it came back positive for thc i do not use marihuana why did this happen ?

False positive.: Most labs use EMIT,Enzyme Multiplied Immunoassay Technique which is prone to errors and Protonix (pantoprazole) does cause a false positive reading for Marijuana. When you have  a urine drug test bring your prescription bottle with you. It could also be technician error.

Ouch: Omeprazole works fairly quickly.  About an hour to effect acid secretions, 2 hours for peak effect. If you are still having pain - are you sure it's "heart burn".  Severe pain really needs to be evaluated by a physician and a hands-on assessment.

: You can start the protonix the next day. Once you start it the day after the omeprazole dose, take it as prescribed by your GI doctor. Good luck to you!

alieve for occasional aches and pins if tylenol (acetaminophen) does not work?

With omeprazole: You can take the Aleve (naproxen) occasionally if taken along with Omeprazole.  Keep the amount you take to the minimum.  This helps minimize side effects.  If you develop any worsening symptoms of abdominal pain, reflux, you should discontinue the medication.  Remember also that if you have any kidney issues avoid medications like aleve (naproxen).
