i had melonoma surgery on my leg with18 stitches two weeks ago. it looks very bumpy now and raised. should i have laser surgery to correct bumpiness and how soon after surgery? doctor said it might take one year to heal?

Wait: Scars usually shrink with time. It would be prudent to follow your doctor's advice and wait for a year.  Note that additional interference with the scar may make it worse.

Maybe not...: Call your surgeon immediately to see if he/she wants you to take it off.  It may be causing pain if it&#x27;s too tight because of foot swelling.  This can be dangerous and cause compartment syndrome so best to call right away.

Ruptured: Achilles tendon is a serious injury, requiring major operation and protracted rehab.  You should address these questions to your ortho surgeon, and undergo operation asap.
